Being a student is a taxing business, and getting a break away from it all to relax with your friends in the evening is an important part of any student’s life. Student bars are brilliant places to go with your mates and they really help keep the cost of going for a drink down to something affordable.
When it’s time for something different though, it can get a bit pricey. Going to watch a film is quite an expensive option usually, but with what if you could get free cinema tickets? What if you could not only get a free ticket to the cinema, but for a brand new film that wasn’t even released yet? And what if you could get your mates a free ticket too?
SeeFilmFirst is a system used by the major film companies and the media to offer tickets for previews of films when they’re being shown around the country. To get a ticket you need to register with the site which is completely free to do, and then when a preview becomes available, they send out an e-mail to all their members letting them know about it.
Tickets are offered on a first come first served basis, so being registered and checking your e-mails regularly is important if you hope to get a ticket for an upcoming preview. Some films they have a lot of tickets to give away, and others only a few which means that how many tickets you can get will sometimes vary, but it will be between 1 and 4 tickets – treats for you, and for your mates, how cool is that!
You will need to have access to a printer, as you’ll need to take your printed ticket along to the cinema with you. You’ll also want to take some identification along with you as some cinemas will ask for proof that you are who your preview ticket says you are.
Not all films are shown in all areas on preview, and it’s up to the film company to decide where they will hold their previews which means that sometimes you won’t get anything in your area for the film you want to see. Unfortunately SeeFilmFirst has no control over this, and it’s just a matter of crossing your fingers and waiting for the next film to come along if you don’t get one on that occasion.
